Lechlade Art Society Exhibition
August 2025

The exhibition was open to the public from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th August, 10.00am to 6.00pm, and Bank Holiday Monday 25th August, 10.00am to 5.00pm, in the Memorial Hall, Oak Street, Lechlade GL7 3AY.

Entry was free with adequate parking on site. Refreshments (tea, coffee, juices and cake) were very popular as always. Thank you to the members, visitors and everyone else who helped to make this exhibition another great success.

Private View

The Private View for members and invited guests was on Friday 22nd August, 7pm to 8.30pm. Brian Britton, Chair of the Society, welcomed members and their guests and thanked the Committee for their work this year. He explained that "Little Gems" are on sale for £25 each and that all proceeds will go to the Prospect Hospice, Swindon. Brian encouraged all of those present to go and buy "Little Gems" in support of this worthy cause and also to tell their friends to come along to the exhibition and do the same.

Brian then introduced our Patron, Lord Faringdon, who was present with Lady Faringdon. Secretary of the Society, Melanie Poole, presented Lady Faringdon with flowers. Lord Faringdon then praised the quality of the work on display, encouraged members to keep up the good standard and declared the exhibition open.

The winner of the Patron's Award (chosen by Lord Faringdon) this year is Brian Britton with his print entitled "Evening Farm". Brian will be presented with the Award at the Society's Annual General Meeting in October.
