An illustrated talk and demonstration
Tuesday 12th November 2024, 2.00 - 4.00pm, in the Pavilion
Harriet gave a fascinating illustrated talk and an amazing demonstration to an enthralled (predominately female) audience of around 30 members and guests. She was enthusiastic, animated, engaging, positive, uplifting - a real breath of fresh air in the current gloomy and despondent world.
The full report is coming soon but meanwhile you can read more about Harriet.

Some photographs taken on the day.
The first gallery is the demonstration which was a portrait of our willing volunteer Zoe. This took about 20 minutes overall during which Harriet talked to Zoe about her life, family and interests. Some of these details were then incorporated "on the fly" into the stitched picture. As if this was not enough, Harriet also talked to her audience throughout explaining what she was doing and answering questions. She also selected and appliqued material onto the artwork to match Zoe's clothes giving the finished picture a very live, current and relevant look - amazing!
The second gallery includes some general photographs taken during the talk and break.
