More about the Society's events and activities
Monthly Meetings feature a varied programme of talks and demonstrations by invited professional artists and speakers. Visitors are welcome.
The Thursday Group is an enthusiastic group of between 20 and 30 "regular" members who meet weekly to paint, draw and chat. Visitors are welcome.
The annual exhibition is held in August in the Memorial Hall and features the Patron's Award. It provides an opportunity, over several days, for members to show their work in a formal but friendly exhibition environment. The Memorial Hall is a beautiful modern venue offering a large space with excellent natural light. Refreshments are always available which encourages our visitors to relax and enjoy their time at the exhibition.
Workshops are run by talented and professional artists often following on from a demonstration at a monthly meeting.
Outdoor Painting Days are arranged during the summer in the Lechlade area.
Open Studios allow visitors to see members at work in a friendly and welcoming environment. The Society participated, as a collective of 12 artists, in Swindon Open Studios during September 2019. In 2023, we featured working artists at our annual exhibition in August. In 2024, ten members took part in Oxfordshire Artweeks from 4th to 12th May at Buscot Park.
The Annual General Meeting takes place in July each year (October from 2024 onwards) and features the Oscart Award ... more about the AGM
Photographs and reports for many events which have taken place in the previous three years are available. Demonstrations, exhibitions, workshops, painting days and social events (such as the annual Christmas lunch) can be viewed in Past Events.
