MEMBERS' ARTWORK GALLERY
Welcome to the Lechlade Art Society Members' Artwork Gallery. Click on an artist's name below to be directed to their gallery. To discuss a possible commission, purchase a featured artwork or get further information, contact the artist directly using the email contact details on their webpage.
Guidelines for Members Submitting Artwork
All members of the Lechlade Art Society can now exhibit work free of charge in the Members' Artwork Gallery on their own webpage. This free service is only provided for fully paid-up Society members and for as long as they continue to be a member of the Society. You can request changes at any time to your Gallery; e.g. to the photographs and their details, your biography and contact information.
What you should do
Take good quality digital photographs of each work you would like to exhibit in even light and preferably without any shadows. If it is a painting, take the photograph straight on (not at an angle) and try to avoid any relections. It is best to photograph a painting without any glass in front and not in a frame. You can crop your photograph to just include the picture if you wish but this is not essential; only do it if you feel confident.
Give the following information for each work: Title, Medium, Size (with and without a frame if applicable), Material (paper, board, canvas etc) and Price (which can be "Not for Sale" or "Sold"). If you wish, include any notes, e.g. a further description of the work or what inspired you to do it.
Include a photograph of yourself, a few paragraphs of biographical data and an email address which you would like to use for liaison directly with any potential buyer or for an enquiry about a commission. You can include a link (or QR code jpg file) to your own website or social media presence if you wish. The email address will be used as the artist contact on your webpage. Note that putting your email address on any website may increase the amount of spam which you receive. If this worries you, either disguise the email address (ask for advice on how to do this) or use the Society's gmail address.
Individual digital images should be of a suitable resolution to be sent by email and be viewed on the website. As a guide, a resolution of 1024 by 800 pixels for a 4:3 aspect ratio is the minimum suitable size. Higher resolution images can be submitted but they will be reduced to exhibit in your gallery. A file size of up to 2MB (megabytes) for a single image is adequate; larger file sizes are not necessary.

Your responsibilities if you want to sell your work
If you want to sell the work which you have exhibited on the Society's website you must be willing to take full responsibility for dealing with the transaction(s) with your buyer(s).
This will include:
- negotiating the price
- agreeing arrangements for postage, packing and insurance as appropriate
- organising the delivery of each piece of work within the timescale agreed between you and the buyer.
Please note that the Lechlade Art Society will not be able to transact on your behalf . The Members' Artwork Gallery is only a vehicle for you to present your work online.
If you have any queries please email the Society at the address above.
