Donation to the Prospect Hospice
At the Christmas Lunch on 12th December, Brian Britton (Chair) talked about a recent donation to the Prospect Hospice, Wroughton (near Swindon). This came from funds raised at various sales of art materials but mostly from the sale of "Little Gems" at the annual Exhibition in August. The Society were invited to send representatives to the Hospice to formally present a cheque (reprinted on a large board) so that some photographs could be taken for publicity purposes.
This was the third year in succession that the Society have raised money for this cause and the Hospice were especially grateful because regular donations enable them to plan ahead with more confidence.

Announcement from Brian Britton, LAS Chair - Sue Moir
"It is with deep sadness that I inform you that Sue Moir died peacefully at the Great Western Hospital today, Monday 4th November. Many of you will remember Sue with deep affection.
Sue has given sterling service to LAS over many years both as a member and Committee member. Amongst other duties, she ensured that, for many years, the Thursday Group was efficiently run at both The Trout and the Pavilion.
Sue will be sorely missed, both as a friend and a stalwart LAS member."
