Ann Snow, President of the Lechlade Art Society, introduces this year's exhibition ...
A very warm welcome to Lechlade Art Society’s 2020 Annual Exhibition.

We have been in existence as a Society for more than three decades and I was one of the Founder members back in 1986. During the course of the intervening years, we have grown in numbers and reputation as a Society to the point where, at the present time, we have well over a hundred members, mainly artists in a variety of disciplines with some professionals amongst us.

Our Annual Exhibitions have always been highly regarded and attract buyers from a wide area. However, this year's exhibition is like no other we have ever held before!
Owing to the current unprecedented situation, we have harnessed 21st century technology to present a Virtual Exhibition which you can visit in the comfort of your own home! We will keep the exhibition open for the whole of September and it will be available to view by a large, potentially global, audience at any time during that month. Purchasing of the exhibits will be strictly between the exhibiting Artist and the Buyer. After the exhibition has finished,  we intend to archive the artwork on our website.

We are very fortunate to live in the Cotswolds, a beautiful part of England and a constant source of inspiration for our artists. I hope you will agree that the following exhibits demonstrate that, but also I hope you will find the variety of subject matter and mediums as visually stimulating and impressive as in the past at our conventional Exhibitions.

There is truly something for everyone here and I do hope that you really enjoy it!
Sharon Ellis, Chair of the Lechlade Art Society, provides some background on this year's exhibition ...
At this time of the year we would normally be gearing up for our Exhibition in the New Memorial Hall. In these strange times we have, by necessity, had to make alternative plans. In view of the present lockdown situation, and how seriously it affects many of our members, we have decided to hold a “virtual” Exhibition online instead. Let me explain.

One of our members is putting an Exhibition Catalogue together to showcase the artworks and to provide relevant details. Details will include the title, medium, size, mount (framed or unframed) and price for each artwork. Visitors wishing to know more about the artist, or to purchase the artwork, will be able to contact the artist directly by telephone or email. The work will remain in the exhibition after purchase but will then be marked as "Sold".

We propose to keep the Exhibition “live” for the month of September thereby giving everyone, including potential buyers, a chance to view it. The Exhibition will be advertised in local publications and on social media where possible. We hope that many of our members will take part and that the Exhibition will be as successful online as it has been at the Memorial Hall in previous years. Enjoy your visit!
The Online Exhibition was open for the month of September and is now closed.
However, the work, organised alphabetically by artist, can still be viewed here:

The Patron's Award is presented to a member artist for an exhibited work which receives the highest number of votes from members and the visiting public. The winner of this year’s Patron’s Award, by a large majority, was Kelsey Brown with exhibit number 170, a watercolour entitled “Blue Bird”. Congratulations Kelsey!
Kelsey will be the custodian of our much-coveted trophy for one year.

Our Patron's Message to Members ...

Our Patron, Lord Faringdon, has recorded a message addressing all of our members to encourage us to keep painting in these difficult times. He sends his best wishes for the success of our forthcoming innovative online exhibition in September.
