Rupert Aker Workshop - "Oil Landscapes"
Friday 21 October 2022, 10.00am to 4.00pm in the Pavilion
Rupert Aker gave a stunning demonstration in June. Around 30 members watched, open mouthed in amazement, as Rupert produced three beautiful paintings, extremely quickly, using a pallet knife, and while talking throughout. Two paintings were immediately sold to members in the audience to take home, still wet!
Rupert agreed to follow his demonstration with a workshop in August. All places for this workshop were quickly filled hence this repeat workshop in October. Gill Cox writes:
Rupert Aker returned for a second workshop for the Society, which is an unprecedented occurrence. Rapidly painting with oils and palette knife, he demonstrated his profession to the class, producing one landscape and one seascape at speed. Rupert gave expert advice on how to paint landscapes in oils throughout the day. Every painter attending produced vibrant & skilled artworks that were way outside of their comfort zone.
Thanks to Gill Cox for the report and for taking the photographs. These are a selection:
