Tim Wilmot Demonstration "Watercolours - Keep it Local"

Tuesday 15 November 2022, 2.00pm to 4.00pm in the Pavilion

Tim gave a comprehensive and detailed watercolour demonstration. Working from a photograph of a local scene (yes, you can't get more "local" than Halfpenny Bridge), he produced an initial pencil drawing and then applied some basic washes for the sky, trees, water and parts of the bridge. When these washes had dried, Tim added more detail finally applying some streaks of white gouache for the riverside grasses to complete this cold and wintery scene. Tim emphasised that some warmer colours should be used for the stone of the bridge to lift the picture and provide some contrast to the cold sky and snow. Altogether a very complete and interesting demonstration.

Tim will be leading a workshop, probably outdoors, in the summer of 2023. Contact Gill Cox or the Society if you are interested in joining this workshop.
